 STORY

GOIL PLC (GOIL) succeeded the marketing outfit of AGIP PETROLI, which was established in Ghana in June 1960. In 1974, the Government of Ghana acquired 100 percent shares and changed the Company's name to Ghana Oil Company Limited. GOIL was listed on The Ghana Stock Exchange in 2007. The Company's name changed to GOIL Company Limited in 2019, and later to GOIL PLC in 2021. This is to reflect GOIL's listed status as well as growth and expansion activities in the petroleum and other allied sectors. The Company has a nine-member Board of Directors, and a Management team headed by the Group CEO & Managing Director.

GOIL Subsidiaries

GOIL has three (3) subsidiaries: GOEnergy Limited, a Bulk Distribution Company (BDC), GOIL Upstream Limited to cater for its offshore business and GOBitumen Limited, a joint venture bitumen production and distribution company.

Retail and Distribution Networks

GOlL has the largest and growing petroleum retail network in Ghana with over 440 service stations. The marketing arm is represented in eight zones countrywide:
  1. South - Accra and parts of Central Region (Kasoa Areas)
  2. South-East - Eastern Region, parts of Accra and Central Region
  3. Tema - Tema, parts of Eastern Region, Volta Region and Oti Region
  4. Middle Belt - Ashanti Region and parts of Eastern Region
  5. Upper Middle Belt - Brong Ahafo Region, Bono East Region, Ahafo Region and Western-North Region
  6. West - Western Region and Central Region
  7. North - Northern Region, Savanna Region and Upper East Region
  8. North West - Upper West Region

Quality & Standards

GOIL is ISO 9001:2015 certified (Quality Management System). GOIL has also been certified with an ISO 14001:2015 standard on Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
GOIL is well prepared to venture into international markets, especially West Africa.

We conduct our business activities in a responsible, honest, transparent and trustworthy manner, which assures the health, safety and security of people, preservation of the environment, quality products and services as well as compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

To achieve this business ethic and culture, we utilize an integrated HSSEQ Management System that is designed to:

  • Establish, maintain and improve our Integrated Management System with the latest revision of ISO 9001, Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001, Occupational Health and Safety management system standard requirements.
  • Continually monitor and strive to meet the needs and expectations of our interested parties, including customers, analyze, plan and improve our processes accordingly.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate risks and opportunities associated with the context of our organization and business processes at least annually and act proactively.
  • Achieve and continually improve performance related to the objectives of this policy by leadership commitment and active involvement of as well as consultation with and participation of our professionally qualified, highly skilled, well-trained and motivated staff and their representatives.
  • Always comply with applicable Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety standards to which GOIL subscribes to and legal requirements.
  • Ensure prudent use of resources.
  • Protect personnel, property, information and reputation against security threats.
  • Do all that is responsibly practicable to establish and maintain a healthy and safe workplace for its employees and other relevant interested parties.
  • Promote pollution prevention and environmental conservation to minimize the environmental impact of our operations.
  • Regularly review the HSSEQ program, historical data, and other information to achieve continual improvements to the Integrated Management System and the workplace environment to enhance performance.
  • Establish safe and healthy working conditions for prevention of work-related injury and ill-health and elimination of hazards and reduction of risk.

Our Products & Services

GOIL mainly markets premium quality fuel with additives (Super XP RON 95 and Diesel XP). The company also supplies;
  • Premium Lubricants
  • Marine Gas Oil
  • Aviation Fuel
  • Mining Diesel and Lubricants
  • Raw Bitumen, Polymer Modified
  • Domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Auto LP Gas
  • Premix Fuel

Payment Channels

We offer flexible payment channels that allow our customers enjoy both cash and cashless transactions. Our major payment channels include cash payments, GOCard, Fuel Coupons, GOMoneyApp and online payments with selected banks and telecommunication companies in the country.

  1. GOCARD
    GOCard is an electronic card system which provides prepaid services. It allows monitoring of fuel consumptions, eliminates the need to carry cash, and can be tailored to meet the needs of individuals and fleets. GOCard uses a state-of-the-art EMV encrypted chip with enhanced protection for card users.
  2. FUEL COUPON
    A voucher with security features in denominations of GH¢50 and GH¢100 and is valid for fuel purchases at any GOIL Service/Filling Station. Organizations, transport owners, drivers and the general public all find GOIL coupons most convenient to use. They are sold exclusively from GOIL head office and zonal offices.
  3. GOMoney App
    A Mobile Phone App which allows GOCard users to purchase fuel without their physical card.
  4. OTHER PAYMENTS
    GOIL offers the flexibility of card payments with VISA & Mastercard POS provided by our partner banks. Mobile Money payments with short code and QR code options are also available.
