GOIL PLC has donated hospital beds to the Feo Clinic in the Upper East Region to support healthcare delivery, particularly maternal and child health services in the community.

The donation, led by the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of GOIL, Mr Edward Abambire Bawa, is aimed at equipping the maternity ward of the clinic, which previously had only a single delivery bed to serve expectant mothers.

The donation was made during a durbar organised by the Chief and people of Feo in honour of the Group Chief Executive Officer of GOIL, Mr Edward Abambire Bawa. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Bawa explained that the gesture formed part of GOIL’s strategic Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, focused on promoting accessible and quality healthcare across the country in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3.

He noted that as Ghana’s indigenous oil marketing company with a nationwide presence, GOIL remains committed to supporting community development initiatives that have a direct impact on the wellbeing of citizens. Mr Bawa urged Ghanaians to continue patronising GOIL products, stating that every pesewa earned by the company ultimately belongs to the people of Ghana.

The Queen Mother of the Feo Traditional Area, Pognaba Felicia Agamboka, expressed profound gratitude to the GCEO and GOIL for responding to the community’s long-standing appeal for support. She described the donation as timely and beyond their expectations, noting that it would significantly improve conditions at the facility.

The District Director of Health Services, Ms Estella Abazesi, also welcomed the donation, describing it as a major relief to the health service. She disclosed that some of the beds would be used to furnish another health facility in Akunduo to enhance healthcare delivery in the district.

In his remarks, the Chief of the Feo Traditional Area, Naba Belia-Lebgekeema Azaare Anyenaba, offered prayers for the continued protection of the GCEO and the prosperity of GOIL, expressing hope that the company would continue to support development initiatives in the area.

The Northern Zonal Manager of GOIL, Madam Adamu Mariam, accompanied the GCEO to the event, together with other company officials.

The donation underscores GOIL’s commitment to community development and its broader mission of contributing to national progress through strategic social investments.

GOIL PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghana’s national security architecture following a high-level engagement between the company’s leadership, led by the Group CEO and MD, Mr Edward Abambire Bawa, and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong.

The visit held at the General Headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces formed part of efforts to strengthen the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.

The CDS warmly welcomed the GOIL delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit.

Mr Bawa explained that the visit was to congratulate the CDS and the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces for their critical role in safeguarding the sovereignty and security of Ghana. He reaffirmed GOIL’s position as the primary fuel supplier to the GAF, including the supply of aviation fuel for the air fleet and bunkering services for naval vessels. He emphasized the need to deepen the strategic partnership between the two institutions.

Responding, Lieutenant General William Agyapong thanked the GOIL team for the visit and commended the company for its unwavering support to the Armed Forces over the years. He particularly acknowledged GOIL’s commitment to ensuring a consistent fuel supply to the GAF, even during periods of high indebtedness.

He noted that such moments reveal true partnerships and described GOIL as a national energy company that understands the role of the Armed Forces within the state and places national interest above purely commercial considerations.

The CDS also commended the Group CEO & MD for his leadership and expressed confidence in his vision to position GOIL for greater national impact.

The GAF delegation comprised the Chief of Staff at General Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Joshua Mensah-Larkai; Director-General, Human Resource, Commodore Francis Nyarko; Director-General, Logistics, Brigadier-General Thomas Mensah; Director, Supply and Transport, Colonel Harry Keelson; and Commanding Officer, Base Supply Depot, Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Awunigateh.

The visit further strengthened the bond between GOIL and the Ghana Armed Forces, reflecting a partnership rooted in national service, institutional trust, and a shared commitment to Ghana’s security and progress.

GOIL, Good Energy!

The Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of GOIL PLC, Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, has paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, at the Ghana Police Service Headquarters to strengthen the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.

The engagement formed part of GOIL’s efforts to assess existing collaborations with key national institutions and explore opportunities to deepen cooperation in support of security operations and national development.

Speaking during the meeting, COP Dr. Ernest Kwabena Owusu, Director-General in charge of General Services, described the relationship between GOIL and the Ghana Police Service as cordial and solid. He noted that GOIL continued to supply fuel to the Police Service even during challenging periods in the company’s history and currently serves police formations across all regions, except some newly created regions.

He indicated that several regional commands have requested increased fuel allocations to meet growing operational demands, adding that these requests would be formally communicated to GOIL. He also acknowledged that some implementation challenges exist and called for closer coordination to improve outcomes.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Yohuno, welcomed the engagement. He underscored the critical role of fuel in police operations and visibility, particularly at the community level, and expressed the need for increased and seamless supply.

The IGP further proposed that GOIL, working with relevant state agencies, consider the construction of fuel storage facilities in hard-to-reach areas, especially within the newly created regions. He also noted that the Police Service has taken delivery of new operational vehicles, including over one hundred pickup trucks and armoured vehicles, stressing that their effective deployment depends on a reliable fuel supply. He thanked GOIL’s leadership for its continued support.

Responding on behalf of GOIL, Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting national security operations. He assured the Police Service that GOIL would work closely with Police Headquarters and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to fast-track processes and address implementation challenges in a manner that balances efficiency, accountability, and security considerations.

In contributing to the discussion, COP Iddi Seidu Lansah highlighted the need to extend the partnership to the Marine Police Unit. He noted that the Police Service has stationed new marine patrol boats along the coast, particularly in Takoradi and Tema, and proposed that GOIL’s bunkering services be considered to support marine security operations.

The visit reaffirmed GOIL’s position as a strategic national energy partner and underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening collaboration in support of public safety, security, and national development.

GOIL PLC has formally handed over two renovated offices to the Department of Sociology at the University of Ghana, reaffirming the company’s commitment to supporting quality and accessible education as part of its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) agenda.

The office spaces, which had suffered wear and tear over the years and were not conducive for academic and administrative work, were renovated by GOIL following a request from the Head of the Department, Prof. Peace Mamle Tetteh. The project has now restored the Department’s General Administrative Office and the Office for Graduate Assistants and National Service Personnel into functional and welcoming spaces for faculty members, staff, and students of the Department

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Head of the Department of Sociology, Prof. Peace Mamle Tetteh, recounted several attempts she had made to corporate organisations for support. She expressed her appreciation to GOIL PLC for not only responding but also doing so promptly. She particularly commended GOIL’s Group CEO and Managing Director, Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, for assisting in making the long-held aspiration of the Department a reality.

The Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Prof. Mavis Dako-Gyeke, also praised GOIL for answering the call in a timeous manner and for supporting the academic community. She further expressed the hope that the partnership between GOIL and the Department of Sociology would continue and be extended to the School of Social Sciences. She explained that this initiative is in tandem with the University of Ghana’s Strategic Goals of building strategic and enduring partnerships to engender transformative experiences for students.

Delivering remarks on behalf of GOIL, the Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Marcus Deo Dake, said the initiative reflected GOIL’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to national development through education. He noted that the project aligns with one of GOIL’s key CSI pillars - supporting access to quality and inclusive education, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4.

Dr. Dake thanked the Department of Sociology and the University of Ghana for giving GOIL the opportunity to extend its Good Energy to the academic community.

Also present at the ceremony were the Head of Fuels Marketing at GOIL, Mr. Emmanuel K. Agyiri, the Group Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Robert Nii Lartey, as well as lecturers and students of the Department of Sociology.

The handover marks another important milestone in GOIL’s commitment to supporting national development through education and human capital investment, reinforcing its role as a strategic national institution that contributes to Ghana’s progress beyond energy supply.

GOIL PLC has officially commissioned a new fuel station at Sunyani Old Barrier, marking the company’s 51st station in the Upper Middle Belt Zone. This milestone forms part of GOIL’s continuous expansion drive aimed at improving access to quality petroleum products across Ghana.

The newly opened station will provide motorists and residents with Diesel, Super XP (GOIL’s additivated economy gasoline), and Super XP 95 (premium high-performance gasoline), offering customers more fuel options tailored to engine performance and value. The station will operate under the leadership of our Dealer, Mr. Abraham Quaye.

The colourful opening ceremony was graced by the Queen Mother of Sunyani, who commended GOIL for its investment in the community and expressed confidence that the station will contribute to local economic growth and improved convenience for road users.

Speaking at the event, Head of Fuels Marketing, Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Agyiri, reassured customers of GOIL’s unwavering commitment to quality, noting that GOIL fuels are carefully formulated to ensure engine protection, efficiency, and long-lasting performance. He encouraged motorists to continue choosing GOIL with confidence.

The Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Robert Kyere, in his remarks, encouraged consumers and businesses to invest in GOIL, highlighting GOIL’s strong Ghanaian identity and consistent contribution to national development.

Also present was the Head of Research & Business Intelligence, Dr. Michael Lagble, who expressed gratitude to customers for their continued trust and loyalty, emphasizing that customer feedback remains central to GOIL’s innovation and service improvement.

The Middle Belt Zone, which covers Bono, Ahafo, parts of Ashanti, and Western North regions, continues to be a strategic growth area for GOIL. The commissioning of the Sunyani Old Barrier station strengthens the company’s footprint in the area and enhances convenience for commuters and businesses alike.
