Annie-Lois Acheampong from the Ghana Christian International High School emerged as the winner of
the ‘Good Energy’ Award at the just-ended National Spelling Bee competition. She gets the
opportunity to join the overall winner, N’Adom Darko Asare in the United States of America (USA),
for the Scripps (U.S competition).
10-year-old N’Adom Darko-Asare, a pupil of DPS International Ghana, won the overall national
National Championship while Nii Odartey Elorm Manyo-Plange of The Roman Ridge School emerged
first runner-up with Aarna Bhaveshkumar Tailor, 11 from the DPS International Ghana, Tema,
recognized as the second runner-up.
GOIL Company Limited has been sponsoring the National Spelling Bee contest for over four years and
instituted the award this year dubbed ‘The Good Energy’ Award to reward the exceptionally high-
performing spellers during competition. Annie-Lois Acheampong was recognized for having attended
all National quiz Finals and completed all assignments scoring at least 70% at every level.
