GOIL has for the second consecutive year, awarded the National Science and Maths Quiz mistress a 1-year free fuel, and offered the other three quiz mistresses and consultants fuel support. In addition, GOIL provided fuel support to the organizers, Primetime, for the production of the contest. These support among others were part of GOIL sponsorship of the National Science and Maths flagship quiz event.

The contest saw PRESEC Legon beating Adisadel College and Opoku Ware School to emerge champion for the sixth time. As the official fuel partner of the event,  GOIL also provided fuel for shuttling by competing schools from the one-eighth stage to the finals. As part of promoting the competitive spirit of the contest, GOIL instituted the Riddle Bonanza which was keenly competed by schools from the preliminary stage to the finals. The prize rewarded schools that were able to answer 3 or 4 riddles. Over 20 schools won cash prizes ranging from 2,400 to 4,000 cedis.
